* Due to the Canton Car Show on July 28th, Cedar Street from Fifth street to Eighth Street over to Dakota Street will be closed to traffic during this time. This does include the whole downtown business district. These streets will be closed from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.*

The Planning and Zoning Commission gives residents an opportunity to shape the future of the City of Canton by providing recommendations to the City Commission relating to zoning and subdivision regulations. The Planning Commission meets once a month on the last Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in this opportunity or would like more information, contact City Hall at 987-2881. Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission are appointed to serve three-year terms.

Slurry Seal 2024 consists of East and West Streets. Walnut Street from Dakota Street to Sanborn Street. Elder Street from North Cedar Street to Sanborn Street. Maple Street from North Cedar Street to Kidder Street. First Street from North Cedar Street to Kidder Street. Slurry Seal is scheduled to start Thursday July 25th.

There is a sewer blockage between South Pleasant and South Johnson. City crews are currently jetting the lines in this area to find the blockage. If you are a homeowner in this area, please check your basement for sewer back up as soon as possible.
