Canton Area Car Show! * Due to the Canton Car Show on July 28th, Cedar Street from Fifth street to Eighth Street over to Dakota Street will be closed to traffic during this time. This does include the whole downtown business district. These streets will be closed from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.*

Saturday in the Park on July 27th! *During this event Third street to Fifth street will be closed to traffic from noon until 4:00 pm.*

Town & Country Night at Jack Fox Park, July 25th from 5:00-8:00 pm. The Canton Police department will also be there hosting National Night Out. * There will be no parking on the westside of Jack Fox Park from noon until 8:00 pm.*

The bike rodeo is today July 24th 6:00-7:30pm! Pizza, an obstacle course, and a chance to win a bike! *Third Street between Broadway and Main Street will be closed during this event. *

OPENING City of Canton Planning and Zoning Commission Have you ever thought about serving your community? Have you ever thought about the ordinances the City of Canton enforces? The Planning and Zoning Commission gives residents an opportunity to shape the future of the City of Canton by providing recommendations to the City Commission relating to zoning and subdivision regulations. The Planning Commission meets once a month on the last Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in this opportunity or would like more information, contact City Hall at 987-2881. Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission are appointed to serve three-year terms.

Slurry Seal 2024 consists of East and West Streets. Walnut Street from Dakota Street to Sanborn Street. Elder Street from North Cedar Street to Sanborn Street. Maple Street from North Cedar Street to Kidder Street. First Street from North Cedar Street to Kidder Street. Slurry Seal is scheduled to start Thursday July 25th.

Hydrant Party! Bring your water guns and water balloons. The food truck Tavern N Tots will be on site, and Sanford Health will be there with ice cream treats.

The 605 Magic Art Bus LLC is in town tonight. The food truck at this event is Wings N Things, all hosted at the Canton Public Library.

UPDATE: This problem has been resolved. There is a sewer blockage between South Pleasant and South Johnson. City crews are currently jetting the lines in this area to find the blockage. If you are a homeowner in this area, please check your basement for sewer back up as soon as possible.

City crews are painting crosswalks and lines on 5th Street (Hwy 18) between Dakota & Cedar Streets.

Check out the new deck at the pool! The City is excited to being one step closer to opening the new pool.

City crews will be spraying for mosquitoes tomorrow night (07/17/24) depending on weather conditions.

The City's bulk water salesman is out of order.

There was a water service interruption at Innovation Street and Industrial Street. Service has been restored in this area.

Due to storm damage throughout Canton, the Rubble Site will be open on Sunday, July 14th at 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for tree and branch drop off.

Chautauqua Park has reopened for drop off of ash tree logs and branches. Please be mindful that the area is still muddy.
