Yearly events:

  • Sioux River Folk Festival

    • Sioux Fiver Folk Festival is a 3-day event held annually on the first full weekend in August. Check out more about this festival on their website FOTM.

  • FestiFall/CandleLight Walk

    • The FestiFall event is held annually on the first Saturday in October from 1-5 p.m. Come out to enjoy arts and crafts, kids’ games, hay rides and bluegrass music. In true fall fashion, you can compete in pumpkin decorating contest, pumpkin carving demonstrations and pumpkin catapulting.

The Candlelight Walk follows the FestiFall and leads visitors along 2.2 miles of a candlelit trails lined with glowing pumpkins through the woods of Newton Hills. This is a unique experience that you can’t get anywhere else except Newton Hills!

Nature and Recreational Programs

Looking for some fun summer outdoor family recreation? Newton Hills has many activities available in the summer season that showcase the natural and cultural features of the park.

  • Programs are held every Saturday between 1 and 5 p.m.

  • Educational films are shown Friday and Saturday evenings at 9 p.m.

  • The park hosts a non-denominational church service Sunday at 9 a.m.
