Canton 2026 Earth Day River Clean-Up
City Offices will be closed at noon on Friday, April 3rd in observance of Good Friday.
Rubble Site Summer Hours effective March 25th, 2026.
The City of Canton is issuing a Snow Alert effective immediately until all streets are plowed. Vehicles on Emergency Snow Routes should be removed as soon as possible. NO PARKING is permitted on any City streets during Snow Alerts; vehicles will be ticketed and towed at any time during a Snow Alert. City crews will work to keep emergency routes open throughout the duration of the storm. Curb to curb plowing will begin at noon. The City parking lots located behind The Wheel and at the Depot and Library are available for parking during the snow alert.

The City of Canton will begin flushing fire hydrants starting March 10th and is expected to be completed by mid-April. Flushing will begin in the northeast portion of town, followed by the northwest, and finish in the south.
This work can stir up sediment in the water lines for a short time. It can also temporarily cause low water pressure at your property.
Before washing laundry, please check the color of your water to avoid problems. If your water is discolored, run the COLD water tap for 10 – 15 minutes and it should clear up.
The City of Canton currently operates 203 fire hydrants and flushes them twice per year. Each hydrant is flushed for between 10 minutes and 90 minutes. Hydrant flushing helps to remove sediment from the water mains and verifies that the hydrants are in good working order for the Canton Fire Department.

The Rubble Site will have new winter hours effective January 1, 2026. The Rubble Site will be open every Saturday, during the months of January, February, and March from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The last Saturday of the month will still have load fees waived. Please call City Hall with any questions.
